hello, my name is reggie. i am 26 y/r, 6', 190lbs, approx. 12% body fat. i am basically a newbie to the world of bodybuilding. i used to lift some weights on and off for the last 6 years or so. now i realize that i really didnt know what i was doing. i didnt diet right, i didnt know how to train correctly, and i didnt have the drive to stick with it for more than a few months at a time. look at my old posts from august of last year. i was a stupid kid. period.

recently, i have read a few bodybuilding magazines and books. i have read about 500 or so threads on this website. by reading so many threads on this website, i have come to a few conclusions. 1) the majority of the people who post threads are idiots. they are most likely not serious bodybuilders. they just want to get big or ripped extremely fast. they want a shortcut. they lack the patience and long term drive that it would take to actually develop the type of body they would like to have. they come on here asking for advice about this supplement or that supplement, or this gear and that gear, and they want some more experienced bbuilder to tell them, 'yeah if you take these magic beans youll grow to the hulk in a matter of weeks'. i was one of these idiots myself, until i decided to relax, do some research, and develop some patience. 2) there are some very experienced bbuilders on this website-- but not many. these experienced bbuilders get frustrated by the monotany of dealing witht he same idiots asking the same questions about magic potions and pills. these experienced bbuilders really would like to help newbies, but most of the newbies will not listen to their advice.

i have decided that i want to build my body the right way. with time and patience and hard work. i will keep my diet clean, and build some decent muscle bellies before i think about pumping myself up with supplements or gear. i know this will take years. i have committed myself to this in my heart. it will just be something i have to do-- like brushing my teeth or using the bathroom-- it will just be a part of my routine, a part of my life.

i will take a picture of myself at the end of every month and post each picture on this thread when i figure out how to. all you would like to follow my progress can do so. i would appreciate constructive criticism only. if you try to make fun of me or tell me i will fail i will only ignore your post. the idiots will be easy to ignore. but as for the experienced veterans, i respectfully ask you for your support and patience with me, as i am not like the other idiots. i plan to pay my dues the hard way and do it right. your advice will be heeded and appreciated. thank you in advance.

This should be a very interesting thread. I would only ask that if you commit yourself to doing it you continue beyond a month or two. Maybe you could pm me your address and if I start to see you slacking, you'll have me show up at your front door dragging you out of bed at 5am.

Just stay consistant, don't expect results but be happy when you start to see them. I would suggest some nitric oxide and creatine for now, just to get your muscles fuller and streatched out. That and an assload of protein powder.

thanks, i have protein already. but i was thinking about staying away from no2 and creatine for months. i want to go ahead and lay down a good foundation this time. i guess i have started and stopped so many times in the past, that i am just pissed at myself and i really want to build some muscle bellies-- and a good muscular structure-- before i try to pump myself up with creatine and no2 really quick, which has led me to a false sense of accomplishment in the past, which made me become dellusional--- dellusional meaning that i was an idiot and thought that cramming down no-explode and getting some blood in my bicep meant that i had made it to the top and i could stop working out. i was thinking about getting on these products after months of hitting the weghts on protein and multi-v.
i know half this website is not going to be interested in this thread now that i dissed no-explode... but thats ok. i am going to pay my dues and do things the hard way. maybe in 6months to a year i will get some respect on this thread. at least i am still in my mid 20's, i have time.

i would advise anyone reading my thread to wait a few months, and if i am not regularly posting pictures of my progress, then ridicule the s@$% out of me. but i know in my heart i am ready to really do this right, so that will not happen. right now i appreciate the encouragement, but i know i need to actually accomplish something before i gain any respect. i think the more experienced bloggers on this site can tell by my attitude that i am for real, and can see the change in my attitude from earlier posts... from cocky a-hole to humble patient student.

Sounds like a young man is starting to grow up! Congrats, bro! You're about the age I was when I started to figure out what worked for me.
Most "miracle supplements" are a complete waste of money.
I don't care what the ad says, NOTHING works like steroids.
Eat clean, plenty of protien, rest, and consistent hard work, not magic but works!

Life can throw curves that may temporarily interupt your training, but once you know what you want and how to get it, you'll always come back.

wow.. very inspirational!!! Glad to hear there are people out there who are committed to bbing... and are willing to do the hard work... I look forward to seeing your progress.... I know a lot of people who are into weight lifting body building.. well let me rephrase that... i know people who are "supposedly" into the craft. But are not really informed or committed to doing it the right way.. with nutrition and exercising in the right format.... so it makes me happy to hear someone is willing to do the work and await the results... congrats. and good luck... I will cheer you on as well... !!!!

tonight, when i get home from work, i will post pictures of my progress thus far. ill put a few pics that show my physique in the past, and, at the end of june '06, ill post a pic--- & continue to post a pic at the end of every month for as long as this site is up and running (i plan to continue this for the rest of my life). ill also add info about my diet and lifting schedule--- but i'll keep it brief, i hate it when people tell you every insignificant detail. i'll also keep brief notes of my ups and downs. nothing fancy--- im not god, im not anyone special, so ill keep it simple. the reason i decided to do this is 1) to inspire others--- because if some poor kid with a bad physique can do it--- so can you!!! 2) by telling people my plans, it will put peer pressure on me to NOT STOP! ---for fear of embarrassing myself 3) to chronical the effects of all my hard work. it will be good to look back on later in life.

anyone at all, please do not hesitate to post anything positive--- pointers or advice or encouragement. i dont have a social life at all because i am a husband and a father, work 2 jobs, and study for computer certifications (and workout now!)--- so any interaction on this thread will be appreciated. anyone who wants to make fun of me, call me a fag, call me a loser, or tell me i cant do it, go right ahead, but i will just ignore you. i am determined to do this for myself and for other peoples inspiration. nothing is stronger than the human spirit.

my picture log will be at the address
http://pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/opn232003/album?.dir=/5ac0
it will be updated at the end of each month. the picture for the end of june 2006 is going to be pretty ugly because i have slacked off for 6-7 months. its going to be embarrassing, but i will post it anyway to motivate myself.

Good to hear you're getting your shit back on track.
With good training and a good diet, you'll be able to tighten up those muscles in no time.
Good luck !
