Anyhow, So I have Blue Shield or cross or something. I saw this question on another board and they gave the guy about a dozen and a half right and wrong answers. It's a safe assumption to make that I will be having blood work done by my personal PH but I don't know what to tell him.

senario 1, "hey doc I'm taking 800mg a week of T400 and wanted to see how the ol' liver is hangin"

No I don't plan on saying that but does anyone know what may be a good approach may be on asking a doctor?

what do you want checked? I would just ask for the basic if you just want the liver checked. Cholestrol, blood count, and liver panel. Or just asked to get you cholesterol and ask what that will include usually they include a liver panel. I wouldn't tell him you were on.

just curious jc, what could happen if you just outright went to your doctor and said "hey im on steroids, i just want a blood test to check out my liver" ?

Well possibly nothing but I have heard that it can go on your records and insurance can sometimes be effected if they find out. So I wouldn't want to take the risk unless you are pretty comfortable with your doctor.

I haven't a clue, it might just be rumor because I haven't actually heard of anyone having it effect their insurance, but I see it post alot when people talk about telling their doctor. I have heard of people telling them and not having a problem though.

I would say ask for a full blood panel but if you are on 800mg of test they will no instantly. :D

I just went through this last week. I told my Doc and just asked for a physical, i also told him to check my test level. They will give you all the answers you need just by drawing blood.
